Deveron, Bogie, Isla Rivers Charitable Trust

The Deveron and its tributaries is administered by the River Deveron District Salmon Fisheries Board (RDevDSFB) and the Deveron Bogie & Isla Rivers Charitable Trust. The RDevDSFB was originated by the Salmon Fisheries Act of the 19th century. The RDevDSFB constitution, along with other Boards, was changed in 1986 and is now provided for by the 1986 Salmon Act.

The Deveron District comprises the natural catchment area of the River Deveron, which includes the rivers Bogie and Isla. The District includes some important burns, The Burn of Boyne, The Water of Philorth, and the Water of Troupe. All of these discharge into the North Sea on Aberdeenshire's north coast, for which the RDevDSFB has responsibility between Cowhythe Point and Cairnbulg Point.

The Trust's objectives are to conserve, protect and rehabilitate salmon, sea-trout and trout and other indigenous wildlife and to promote the ecological cycle within the Deveron catchment area and to raise people's awareness of conservation and protected areas by commissioning research and publishing the results for the public's benefit. The Trust is a charity, maintained in part by donations, and your contribution is welcomed.
